Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat is conveniently located just 2km outside the main hub of Airlie Beach, in the eastern suburb of Jubilee Pocket. Located within walking distance are a supermarket, liquor store, restaurants, pubs and bistros.

Public transport also stops at our front door on a frequent basis.

Monday – Friday 08.30 - 5.00pm

Saturday & Sunday 08.30 - 4.00pm

If you expect to check in after reception hours, please contact us on the day of arrival to organise an after hours check in. 

Driving

By road, 125 km from Mackay and 60 km south of Bowen, on Queensland’s coastal Bruce Highway is the town of Proserpine. 

From its northern outskirts, turn off at the well indicated signage to Airlie Beach. Once on Shute Harbour Road, a 20km drive will take you straight into the heart of Airlie Beach. Drive through the main street of Airlie Beach and continue for another 2km in the direction of Shute Harbour. On your right hand side you will see an IGA shopping centre. We are located just 300m from the IGA Shopping Centre, on the right hand side.

Flying

Daily flights arrive from all major Australian capitals to the town of Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast Airport).

The shuttle service, Whitsunday Transit, will take you directly to our front door and can be booked in the airport’s arrival lounge. 

Direct flights also land daily on Hamilton Island. If landing at Hamilton Island Airport, a ferry service will take you to the mainland of Airlie Beach. The ferry can be pre-booked through us or booked on-location through Fantasea or Cruise Whistundays Ferry services.

Public Transport

Public buses run via Shute Harbour Road, the main street of Airlie Beach 7 days a week, at 20 min intervals. The Airlie Cove bus stop is the closest to Kipara, at only 10m from the reception office!

Office hours Reception is open Monday till Friday from 8:30am till 5:00pm  

Saturday & Sunday open from 8:30am till 4:00pm 

After Hours We are still available to our guests after the above hours for important requests or emergencies. Please contact us should you expect to arrive outside operating hours for late check in procedures.

BOOKING TERMS 

To ensure you have the most relaxed and enjoyable stay possible, please respect other people’s space and property, and follow the few simple rules. 

By making a booking at Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat you agree to abide by the booking terms and conditions and rules as set out below and in our cancellation policy. 

You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking. Rates are based on 2 adults - fees apply for additional occupants. The person registering at check-in must be at least 18 years of age. 

The person whose name appears on the booking form is responsible for ensuring compliance with the booking terms and conditions and the rules by all members of his/her party and visitors.  

 

CANCELLATION POLICIES 

Standard Rate 

Full payment is required at the time of booking and you may change, cancel or move your booking until 48 hours before the day of arrival.  

Plan Ahead & Save Rate 

Full payment is required at the time of booking and you may change your arrival date or modify your booking at any time until 2 days before the day of check in. All bookings are non-refundable.  

A reservation will not be confirmed should the payment not be successful. If a client does not arrive by the close of business of the date booked and does not provide notice, the entire reservation will be cancelled with monies forfeited. 

Pricing is based on room occupants. Should the number of guests vary, the tariff may alter. 

   

CHECK OUT 

Check out is at 10.00am Should you check out outside reception hours, simply drop your keys in the KEY BOX located on the outside wall of the reception building upon your departure. Late checkout can be organized at reception according to availability. Extra charges might apply. Please take your rubbish to the large green bins before departure. 

 

Dishes & Bin Emptied; We ask that you please wash your dishes before departure if they are a not a $50 cleaning charge will occur. 

Visitors – are welcome while you are present and their behaviour is your responsibility. Visitor vehicles are not permitted in the Park.  

Smoking is not permitted inside cabins, rooms & camp kitchen. If there are traces of smoking there will be a $100 cleaning charged. 

On Departure We ask that your please leave your cabin/room in a tidy manner with dishes please cleaned or a $50 cleaning charge will apply. 

Speed limit 5kph – Roads with the Retreat are all shared roadways with pedestrians, observe the speed limits and be aware when driving in the park. 

Pool, BBQ and Camp Kitchen – The pool is open daily from 7.30 am until 9.30pm. Children under 12 should always be accompanied by an adult. No glass or food in the pool area. BBQs are available by the pool and at the Camp Kitchens. Please clean after use. Cook tops and microwaves are available at the camp kitchens. Cooking appliances, crockery and BBQ cooking tools are available in the BBQ areas by the private rooms or please ask at reception if items are low. 

Laundry Facilities Are located in the central building near the Private Room areas. Both washing and drying machines are a payment reader for cards & some coin operated. Laundry Powder is available at the Reception area. There is an iron & ironing board in the laundry. 

Waste Services – Please take all rubbish out of your rooms and cabins and dispose of in the green lid bins provided. Recycling bins are placed around the park – please use for recycling bottles, cans etc. Please DON’T leave rubbish outside due to wildlife will go through and make a mess. 

Pets – sorry no pets are permitted in the park except for a registered guide, hearing or assistance animal with an identity card.  

Noise– Kipara as with all parks has a 10pm noise policy. Anyone found disturbing guests after 10pm will be asked to leave the park without a refund. We also ask all guests to be conscious and respect others if leaving early in the mornings, particularly prior to 7am. 

Behaviour – Illegal substance use, illegal activity, excessive consumption of alcohol, disruptive behaviour and acts of violence/abuse within the Park will not be tolerated, the guest will be asked to leave and the police will be notified 

Evacuation – in the event of an emergency make your way calmly to the designated emergency assembly point.
